'Standard and Poor's Guide to Money and Investing' book? - derivatives for dummies pdf
I know basically nothing about the stock market and want to learn more about derivatives and equities, and similar things. The book is good, because I know nothing at all? or is it better if I read the first Dummies book? Other suggestions?

Derivatives is quite advanced things. Probably I would go with Investing for Dummies by Eric Tyson first. This you will learn some basics: stocks, bonds, mutual funds, diversification, cost, etc.
