I wonder, because I have a lot of people talking about academics working on a vaccine against swine flu. How long does it take to make a vaccine developed, though? Finally, HIV since the late 70s or early 80s and have not recognized yet no vaccine!

For some it is a vaccine for the most part not for all time. The military medical personnel, etc.. all go first.
I personally can not get vaccinated against influenza. It seems a bit redundant at this stage of my life. Viruses have with us for quite some time and will not disappear soon is not the flu virus this year.
